Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Touch Down in UK Because of Fracture in Cockpit Window

An aircraft carrying the US defense secretary was forced to make an unplanned landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was discovered in the jet's front window, according to an announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.

"The aircraft landed following established safety measures and all passengers, such as Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a press officer commented in a public statement.

The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the city of Brussels when the incident occurred.

This occurrence isn't the first occasion that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has suffered technical problems.

Earlier this year, a US Air Force plane ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was required to return to Washington after encountering a mechanical problem.
